Latest from the North. We have received from the Agent of the Associated Press the following summary of news from the New York Herald, of Wednesday last, the 4th inst.: The Elections at the North. The State election in New York Tuesday resulted in an overwhelming Abolition majority. --The city of New York, which last year gave Seymour 1,000 majority, now gives the Abolitionists 15,000 majority. The Republican State officers elected are: Chauncey M. Depew, Secretary of State; Lucius Robinson, Comptroller; Jno. Cochrane, Attorney General; George W. Schuyler, Treasurer; Benj. F. Bruce, Canal Commissioner; James K. Bates, Inspector of Prisons, and Henry R. Selden, Judge of the Court of Appeals. Gov. Andrews (Rep.) has been re-elected in Massachusetts. The republicans made a clean sweep in the State, carrying the Senate almost unanimously. In New Jersey the returns show large Democratic gains. In Maine and Wisconsin the Republicans carried their State tickets.
